Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

25 states review eminent domain: Changes may sweep governments after Supreme Court ruling

From today's Winston-Salem Journal:

Alarmed by the prospect of local governments seizing homes and turning the property over to developers, legislators in at least half of the states are hurrying to blunt the U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month expanding the power of eminent domain.
