Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Free market superior to regulations

From The Shelby Star:

The free market is so powerful. And so good.

It’s no wonder that so many in government see it as a threat.

A story in Thursday’s Star illustrates perfectly how the market will eventually do the “good” that government seeks to do, but without eating away at our freedoms in the process.

The story is from Raleigh where homebuilders are turning toward “green friendly” home designs. These types of homes use less energy and are built with more environmental friendly materials and without chemicals.
