Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Editorial: War Of Values

The editorial writers of the Winston-Salem Journal have their heads sooooooo buried in the sand, they must have learned how to breathe through their (_!_) holes.

In defense of Dubya, he has never said Saddam & Iraq were directly responsible for 9/11, even though there is evidence otherwise. I would suggest the editorial writers of the Winston-Salem Journal read this article by Andrew C. McCarthy.

With regard to the Journal's reference that giving more aid to Africa will help us in our War on Terror, I suggest they read the interview DER SPIEGEL did with Kenyan economics expert James Shikwati.

This is just one more embarrassing editorial by the Winston-Salem Journal... Just my opinion.
