Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Re: More Rock For Life

Tucker Miller opines:

Several weeks ago everyone here at work was wishing Mr. Andy Rogers a happy BIRTHday. However, i do not recall nine months prior to that everyone wishing him a happy CONCEPTIONday. We as a "society" have chosen the day of one's birth as the arbitrary point of commencement for an individual's life. Remember, we have natural-BORN American citizens, not naturally-conceived ones! Is it the federal government's duty to change this definition? (i don't think there's enough syllables in the "Happy Birthday" melody to change the words)
Let us have our federal government worry about getting us out of costly geo-political conflicts, and promoting the development of alternatives to fossil fuels. That would truly benefit us all. The abortion fight (and other social wars)shouldn't be fought by the government and politicians, but by community and church leaders. Abortion should not be an argument over public policy, but one about personal morality.
(As much as i hate using stereotypes) shouldn't true conservatives be worried about "big government" encroaching upon their personal liberties anyway, as opposed to favoring a larger role by governmental law enforcement?
This post is from a pro-CHOICE advocate who is NOT
pro-abortion!
