Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Pat 'Nut-Job' Robertson

Not to rain on your parade, since you seem to be having so much fun slingling the "terrorism" moniker around, but a few salient points:

Robertson marginalized himself long ago. No one actually watches the 700 club any more. However, I hardly see Robertson canceling himself since he owns the network outright. It is the MSM (once again) who are giving him the air time and the notoriety.

Comparing Robertson to a terrorist is patently stupid since he's not running around blowing anyone up or cutting anyone's head off. Furthermore, Chavez has little room to complain since he has made numerous veiled threats against the person of our own President. Chavez is the petty despot of a pimple on the continent of South America and not even worth the effort it takes to think about him.

Thank goodness Labor Day is just around the bend. Soon Congress will be back in session and the media can concentrate on something that is stupid on a grand scale rather than the petty stupidities of Sheehan and Robertson.
