Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Lukewarm

It is from the Revelation. It is addressed to one of the Asian churches. He is saying that their beliefs were lukewarm and their actions were too moderate. He wants them to make a stand on what they believe. He is saying that because they were acting so cowardly and "lukewarm," it caused him to vomit them up (the literal meaning of "spue thee out of my mouth"). He says shortly after that, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." He wants us to stand up for what we believe and not bow to evil.
