Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: 9-15-05; The Stokes News Letters to the Editor

I only have one comment for Ronnie-boy: Hello pot, have you met kettle? Let's hear the story of how you got your seat on the Board of Commissioners, Ronnie. How about if you recount for us just exactly how you ended up as associate superintendent and subsequently superintendent? I won't defend what Sandy is supposed to have done, but Ron Carroll's hypocritical self-righteousness is just plain nauseating.
