Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Everything You Need To Know About 'Black Gold Stranglehold'

A BP reader recently forwarded some information to me about Jerry Corsi, one of the two authors of 'Black Gold Stranglehold.' Personally, if I'm going to take the time to read a book, I usually like to know both the author's knowledge of the subject and whether he or she has another agenda hidden within the text.

According to the reader, the book "is the worst type of 'agit-prop' that exists. It gives (some people) ammo to rationalize their... beliefs about energy and oil. The problem is that people want to believe the 'information' in it, so they take no time to investigate the authors. These two dudes have a serious and ultra-scary agenda — Invade Iran!!! (In the information linked below,) the scary stuff is about Iran: the jewel of energy hogs and war hawks in neocons' ranks."

Jerry Corsi also wrote 'Unfit for Command,' the disposable election-time propaganda about John Kerry's time in the military.

Check out the following links to determine if 'Black Gold Stranglehold' is unfit for reading:
