Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Dems Say 'America Can Do Better' by Electing Them in 2006

Emboldened by this week's elections, national Democratic leaders declared Thursday that "America can do better" by returning control of Congress to their party in 2006. However, GOP protestors outside the event accused the Democrats of "chickening out" and falling back on the party's usual tax-and-spend agenda.

Yours truly opines: I can't believe Republicans in Washington are scared of these guys & gals.
