Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Kerry, Other Democrats Threaten Alito Filibuster

Fox News

WASHINGTON —
Massachusetts Sens. John Kerry and Edward Kennedy, along with a small number of other Senate Democrats, have threatened a filibuster to block the vote for Judge Samuel Alito's confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court, FOX News has learned.

The GOP should dare these liberal Democrats to filibuster Alito... :-)

However, a true conservative should be frightened of Alito (or any jurist) who seems likely to extend and/or increase the powers of the executive branch.

What would you know of a "true" conservative? That's mighty big talk from one of Graham Flynt's ideological progeny. And please, boy wonder, enlighten us all on Alito's "likelihood" to extend the powers of the exeuctive. If you want to engage in the debate, you have to do better than just to regurgitate the DNC's talking points.
