Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Officials want Stokes on board with PART

County's commuters would benefit, they say

Officials with the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation are working to get Stokes County to join PART, a group that works to solve the region's transportation problems.

Brent McKinney, PART's executive director, plans to attend Monday's meeting of the Stokes County Board of Commissioners to talk about why adding Stokes would be good for both the group and the county.

McKinney said that having Stokes on board would help PART offer mass-transit options to more commuters on the Triad's roads. Stokes would be helped by not having to offer mass transit on its own.
