Steve has mentioned on several occasions that simply enforcing existing laws is a solution, but let's be realistic here. How would that happen?
Ok, let's. I have already offered a couple of suggestions, but tell me, what is unrealistic about simply enforcing the law? If it takes closing and militarizing the border, let's get to it. I already offered the idea that INS needs to start dealing with illegals who are apprehended for other crimes. They do not do that now. What is unrealistic about that? How about if we stop giving them government-paid social services? When they show up at the emergency room, treat them and then deport them. When they show up at the welfare office, take them into custody and deport them. If you think any of those are unrealistic, then you are not looking for feasible solutions, you are looking for easy solutions and you're out of luck.
