Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: New US church leader says homosexuality no sin

Leave it to a feminist to decide she, and not God, is the final arbiter of what is and is not sin. This would be why Jesus and Paul both said the church should be led by men.

...she believed homosexuality was no sin and homosexuals were created by God to love people of the same gender.

How easy it is for her to dispense with the written Word of God. I wonder if she is even aware of Satan whispering in her ear any more. On one level, the fact that homosexuality is simply a form of lust is enough to condemn it, but I expect her holiness would have soft soap to sell on that subject as well. She's pushing what C.S. Lewis called "Christianity-and-water." It's a simple-minded theology that ignores reality. And then there's the utter illogic of the idea that God would create homosexuals as they are only to declare them an abomination and destroy them for their wickedness. But then again, the road to Hell requires no logic.
