Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: King's Sprawl

I'd say Strother pretty much covered it in this one, the only thing I had to add is that King does have something special in its past. I've always heard it was the location of the last known Klan lynching in North Carolina. I wonder how many of the new residents of this rural paradise know that one?

King's power elite are solely interested in scamming as much money from middle-class whites fleeing Winston-Salem as they can before the market collapses. Nothing more, nothing less.
