Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

I think busybodies is a better term than do-gooders. That's one of the reasons we keep getting saddled with crap like this. People want to give the cretins who come up with it credit for good intentions.

The correct reward for this should be a sharp crack on the skull with a ruler and a reminder that the perpetrator is wasting oxygen.
