Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. District swears in its first female judge

Puckett, 36, was first in her family to go to college, too, she says

DANBURY

Angela B. Puckett was sworn in yesterday as the first female judge in Judicial District 17B, which is made up of Surry and Stokes counties.

Puckett, 36, of Westfield adds her most recent accomplishment to other firsts - she was the first to go to college in her family and the first woman to be an assistant district attorney in Judicial District 17B.
