Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Federal prosecutors asked a judge yesterday to cut in half any prison time former state Rep. Michael Decker gets when he is sentenced next week, saying that his cooperation was the “critical turning point” in convicting former House Speaker Jim Black.
