The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Maryland Becomes First State to Pass 'Living Wage' Law

(CNSNews.com) - Maryland is set to become the first state in the nation to require contractors to pay workers a "living wage." A liberal group Thursday said the law would lift thousands of families out of poverty while a business group panned the measure as "unwise."
