Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Virginia Tech Killer Identified

(ABC News) - We now know the identity of the killer at Virginia Tech.

He is Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old resident alien of the United States, as first reported by ABC News.

Cho is a South Korean national, a Virginia Tech senior majoring in English and the man who killed 33 people -- including himself -- on the Virginia Tech campus Monday.

Sources tell ABC News that Cho killed two people in a dorm room, returned to his own dorm room where he re-armed and left a "disturbing note," then went to a classroom building on the other side of campus to continue his rampage.

Has any one asked if this was a “retaliatory hate crime”?
Were 20-plus of the students in a “German“ class?

“Me being Asian, it is pretty upsetting...especially since who ever did the art for the murals seemed to have misrepresented every single Asian race on the face of the earth.

I think that this is good that someone is standing up to ignorance. I think it would be inappropriate if the Chinese club held a "German" themed dance where
Nazi uniforms, pretzels, beer steins would be ladened throughout. For some reason people would react to that more for obvious reasons...

The asians are no longer silent...
