Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Dobson Disses Rudy

(Fox News) - Influential Christian leader James Dobson may not cast a vote in 2008 — if Rudy Giuliani wins the nomination — saying his conscience would prevent him from supporting the former New York mayor. The Focus on the Family founder writes: "I will either cast my ballot for an also-ran — or if worse comes to worst — not vote in a presidential election for the first time in my adult life."

Dobson cited what he called Giuliani's unapologetic support for "abortion on demand," and moral concerns such as his three marriages.

Dobson has also said he would not vote forArizona Senator John McCain "under any circumstances," adding, "I pray that we won't get stuck with him."
