Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Popular WSJS voice will retire

(Winston-Salem Journal) - Soon, Glenn Scott will be able to sleep late.

Scott, the host of WSJS’ morning radio show since 1979, announced on yesterday’s show that he is retiring. His last day on the air will be June 1. His show, Glenn Scott and the Waking Crew, runs from 5:30 to 10 a.m. weekdays.
