Billy Graham's Wife In Coma

(Fox 8 News) - A spokesman for the Billy Graham family says Ruth Graham slipped into a coma this morning and appears close to death.

Larry Ross, Billy Graham's personal spokesman, says Ruth Graham is entering the final stages of life.

The news comes just moments after Billy Graham announced he and his wife will be buried at the recently dedicated Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.

The 87-year-old Ruth Graham has suffered from degenerative osteoarthritis of the back and neck and is bedridden at their home in western North Carolina.

In a statement, Graham says she is -- quote -- "close to going home to heaven."
