Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Democrats pledge support for wide access to abortion

WASHINGTON (Chicago Tribune) - Elizabeth Edwards said Tuesday that her husband's health-care plan would provide insurance coverage of abortion.

Speaking on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards before the family planning and abortion-rights group Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Edwards lauded her husband's health-care proposal as "a true universal health-care plan" that would cover "all reproductive health services, including pregnancy termination," referring to abortion.

Well I think it's murder. I'm sorry but they are taking someone elses life into their own hands!! I don't care what people say but by the time you find out you're pregnant, that baby has a heartbeat! That's human enough for me! DAMN DEMOCRATS!

What's the difference between having an abortion and in vitro fertilization?
Both are forms of "playing God", so to speak. If one cannot get pregnant "naturally" then maybe God doesn't want them to procreate at all. I personally do not care if my neighbor gets pregnant through in vitro fertilization or has an abortion...either way it is none of my DAMN business!

I personally, cannot understand people who want to make this medical procedure illegal. Legal abortions are NOT mandatory abortions. If you are opposed to abortion, then do not have one and encourage others not to as well. But the government certainly has no place to tell a woman who is 9 weeks pregnant that she has to remain pregnant for 9 months. It is as simple as that.
