Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Annual Smith Chicken Festival

Here, on the eve of my family's annual Chicken Stew, I posted this interesting fact and response over on our MyFamily.com website. I'd venture to guess that, between the two stews, ours is the most tasty ... (Thanks, Jimmy!)

From Wikipedia, subject "Stew" --

"On September 15, 2007, Caracas, Venezuela chefs broke the Guinness World Records by serving 15,000 litres, largest stew
(sancocho - enough to feed 70,000 people). Thirteen hours cooking in 5 meter-high pot (20,000-litre) were done with 100
helpers. They used 7,000 kilograms (15,340 pounds) of vegetables and 5,000 kg (11,000 lb) of meat and chicken. Guinness
officials monitored the record attempt. Mexico held the record in July."

This Chicken Festival idea is really catching on ... we're global! Chavez has us beat by the numbers, but in 'Smithamerica,' I think
we have the edge percentage-wise ...
