Judge settles Surry's 10-year battle for land

He orders Mount Airy couple to leave

DOBSON (Winston-Salem Journal) - A Superior Court judge has ordered a Mount Airy couple to leave their 95-acre farm, ending a 10-year battle in which Surry County commissioners fought to buy the property under eminent domain to expand the county landfill.

In a ruling filed yesterday, Judge Richard W. Stone ordered Donald and Faye Terrell to leave their farm by Nov. 28.
