Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

County approves environmental study

(The Stokes News) - The first step toward creating a satellite campus of Forsyth Technical Community College on the former prison camp property at Meadows is the completion of an environmental study.

The Stokes County commissioners unanimously approved spending $1,500 to have Progress Environmental do the phase I environmental study on the 9.6 acres property and its four main buildings at their Dec. 27 meeting.
