Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Opponents upset over being ignored, one adviser says

WASHINGTON (The Washington Post) -
Over the past 10 years, Sen. John McCain has annoyed, aggravated and nearly destroyed some of the most powerful members of Washington’s Republican establishment, creating a list of antagonists including anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist and Gun Owners of America.

Now, with his victory in the New Hampshire primary putting McCain’s quest for the GOP presidential nomination back on track, his old adversaries are mobilizing to keep him out of the White House.
