Parents Of Boys Who Drowned File Wrongful Death Lawsuit
Suit Seeks Over $10,000 In Damages
STOKES COUNTY, N.C. (WXII12.com) - The parents of two boys who drowned in the Dan River two years ago are suing the Stokes County Department of Social Services, claiming the department was negligent when it placed the boys under the care of their grandparents.
The lawsuit filed on behalf of the estate of Jeffrey and Jacob White says the boy's paternal grandparents "were in poor health and not in physical condition to properly supervise" when they were granted custody of the children due to complaints of domestic violence in the parents' home.
The suit seeks damages in excess of $10,000.
