The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. (Fox News) - Former President Jimmy Carter met Friday with the exiled leader of Hamas and the militant group's deputy chief — on the 25th anniversary of the deadly bombing of the U.S. embassy in Beirut.
