Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Another Democrat with a government land deal!

(By Ed Morrissey/Hot Air) - Move over, Harry Reid — Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC) has become the new king of Capitol Hill real-estate riches. The Tennessee Valley Authority just announced a new water-access deal for members of an investment group, which includes Shuler, the former Volunteer quarterback. Just coincidentally, Shuler happens to sit on the House subcommittee that oversees the TVA (via Instapundit)...
