Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Smell of Weakness

(David Frum's Diary) - Barack Obama's choice of Joe Biden as his running mate reveals a mood of worry inside the Obama campaign. If Obama had felt confident, he would have picked Tim Kaine. Now, though, a month of bad polls have taken their toll, and Obama is acting defensively and protectively.
