Bully Pulpit
The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

"Republicans tend to have a comically simplistic view of how 'identity politics' works. They should recall how blacks reacted when Clarence Thomas was named to the Supreme Court." — Eugene Robinson, Washington Post
Eugene Robinson and other liberal pundits view black conservatives as traitors. You ought to read what Robinson and others have said about Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell just for the simple fact they served under Republican administrations. They portray them as dumb and they were only appointed because of their race. It's like you can't be a conservative if you're black or a woman. The Democrats live & breathe liberal"identity politics."
Robinson needs a refresher course in reading and listening for comprehension. You just can't get any more comically simplistic than the identity politics of nominating Obama.
