Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: Grim!

Tom Daschle -- the point man in charge of implementing socialized health care for the incoming Obama crowd -- plans to go "on the offense" quickly: He wants to push universal health care coverage through before anybody can object. Daschle also plans to avoid specifics. He said: "Details kill... If we get too far into the weeds, if we produce a 1,500- or 1,600-page bill, we're going to get hung up on all the details and we're never going to get to the principles."

So the game plan is: Ram it through, skip the specifics, and let America figure out what hit us later.

Next. There's some grumbling going on in Democrat circles over the $30 million or more that Lord Obama's campaign still has after the election. Democrats loaded with campaign debts want an Obama bailout, but they're hitting a brick wall.

You idiots! When Lord Obama talks about "spreading the wealth," like all liberals, he's not talking about his own!

Finally, for those of you anxiously awaiting "change"... Official word has come from on high: Things are going to change for the worse. On Meet the Depressed on Sunday, the Messiah, Lord Barack Obama the Most Merciful, repeatedly warned that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. (I thought the whole idea was to make things better instantly?)

So, if you're expecting a brighter future starting January 20th -- forget it. You're going to be miserable, you're going to stay miserable, and that's just the way Obama wants it.
