Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: Threat?

From Rush Limbaugh: The Department of Homeland Security... Hold on. Let me correct that. The Barack Obama/Democrat Party Department of Homeland Security has issued a warning to law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for "right-wing extremists."

The intelligence assessment, prepared by the Obama DHS, warns law enforcement agencies, and I quote: "Right-wing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African-American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning." (There's not a scintilla of proof for any of this in the report.)

The assessment goes on to say that the current economic and political climate is similar to the 1990s; you remember that -- when Bill Clinton tried to blame certain people for the Oklahoma City bombing.

So, who should Americans fear, according to the Democrat Homeland Security Department? For one, veterans returning home from the war on terror. The report also says that right-wing extremists "may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." That's besides groups who favor state or local authority over the federal government. To combat the new threats, the government will work with local law enforcement to gather information about those right-wingers.

So have no fear, folks. Democrats will ensure America can be prepared -- and be safe -- from your neighbors... on the right-wing.
