Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. JLF Analyst Cites Rising Unemployment While Blasting Tax Hikes

Budget negotiators considering $1 billion in new taxes, governor wants more

RALEIGH (Carolina Journal Online) — North Carolina lawmakers would do nothing to help the state's unemployment problem, if they move forward with proposed tax hikes in the final state budget. That's the assessment of a John Locke Foundation expert analyzing May unemployment data.
