Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Last Day of Classes at Nancy Reynolds School

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. (By Chad Tucker, Fox 8 News) - After 86 years, the school bell rang for the last time Wednesday at Nancy Reynolds Elementary

Stokes County school officials said the building, built by the Reynolds family in 1923 is beyond repair.

Architects plans include a replica of the old building on the outside, while the inside will be modern and up to date.

Because the building will be torn down this summer, alumni were invited to come back and walk the halls on the school's last day.

"(The) sense of just being here and seeing from an adults view and wishing that my children could have gone to school here and experienced that closeness," said Tammy Collins Denny, one of the many who came back Wednesday.

While the new school is being built, Nancy Reynolds students will move into portable classrooms at Pinnacle Elementary.
