Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Winston-Salem City Council to Vote on $12.7 Million Loan for Stadium

(Fox 8 News) - The Winston-Salem City Council will vote [today] on whether to loan $12.7 million to the Winston-Salem Dash to help finance the completion of the team's new stadium.

The team's owner says he need the money to finish construction.

If approved, BB&T will give the loan in the city's name, but the dash will be responsible for paying for it.
