Nunn Brothers to continue tradition

WESTFIELD (By Dean Palmer, The Pilot) - In keeping with a local tradition almost as rich as that of the bluegrass music it features, twin brothers Alden and Arnold Nunn will be hosting their 11th annual Nunn Brothers Bluegrass Festival this weekend.

The music has become a way of life for the brothers, who grew up playing along with family members and others around the tiny rural community of Woodville where they still reside. In fact, it was a family tobacco field that was no longer being worked that the brothers took as inspiration for their festival.

The large field with its adjacent stream and log barn, with a porch added to serve as a stage, was dubbed the Nunn Brothers Music Park. With the Nunn Brothers Band serving as the host group, bluegrass musicians have since come each July from throughout the region to perform before appreciative audiences.
