The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Zero interest bonds made available to school system--could be used for Southeastern Middle School renovation

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - With some school construction projects in Stokes County having to take a backseat due to economic concerns, the news that zero or low interest bonds are available comes as welcome news to local government officials. The consensus of the Stokes County Board of Commissioners at their afternoon meeting on Monday was to allow the school system to begin the application process.

“It’s hard to ignore a possible $5.5 million at zero interest,” commented Commissioner Dr. Ron Carroll.
