The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Fox News Host: Obama Town Hall ‘Looks Like It Could Be a Campaign Stop’



"There has to be a happy medium. We have seen these town halls, we've seen this yelling, we've seen this screaming, and all of a sudden the president holds a town hall and it looks like it could be a campaign stop," Fox News host Trace Gallagher said.
