Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

ObamaCare sneak preview: Cash for Clunkers a bureaucratic disaster

From Fox News: The federal government has only reimbursed auto dealers for 2 percent of the claims they've submitted through the popular "cash for clunkers" program, a Pennsylvania congressman said, calling on the Obama administration to help speed up the process.

Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., called for "immediate action" to address the problem in a statement Sunday, after writing a letter to President Obama Saturday expressing his concerns.

In the letter, Sestak said only 2 percent of claims have been paid and that four of every five applications have been "rejected for minor oversight."

Well, surprise, surprise, surprise, it appears the "cash for clunkers" program isn't running as smoothly as the politicians told us it was. In typical fashion, Congress appropriates $2 billion dollars more for the program when only 2% of the original $1 billion has been paid out. I heard on the radio that some dealers are stopping the program until they get their money from the government.
