NBC’s Harwood: Parents Who Object to Obama Speech Aren’t Smart Enough to Raise Their Kids Effectively
"I got to tell you, as someone who has covered Washington a long time, this is one of the most ridiculous controversies I've ever seen. And so far as I can tell, the biggest danger to kids in this whole thing is a lot of the parents complaining aren't smart enough to raise them very effectively -- cause if you think that a President coming into your kids schools saying work hard, stay in school is a danger to your kids, you've got some problems..."

Parents like myself didn't reject solely Obama's speech; we rejected the study guide that came with the speech. NBC News and other outlets fail to report the contents of that original study guide sent out by the Department of Education. We had serious problems when the study guide talked about how students could help Obama, reading books on Obama, writing down Obama quotes from the speech etc. If he would have just given the speech without this study guide, I wouldn't have cared. Obama and his team are the ones who messed up on this. I don't need a lecture by a NBC News reporter on how to raise my kids "effectively".
