To the highest bidder: The end of an era at Nancy Reynolds--School artifacts will be sold at silent auction

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - When the historic Nancy Reynolds School is gone by mid-October, residents of the community and former students will undoubtedly cherish the memories of the grand old school. But that’s not all they will have the opportunity to possess.

Artifacts from the 86-year-old school will be made available to the community by way of a silent auction to be held on Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. until noon.

“This is the most fair way,” explains David Burge, director of operations for Stokes County Schools. He has taken into account that several people may want the same thing—an old radiator or a door perhaps. To alleviate any trouble, the silent auction system will be used.
