Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Limbaugh on Panel of Judges for Miss America 2010

(The Tampa Tribune) - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh will join "American Idol" runner-up Brooke White and actress Vivica A. Fox as judges on the 2010 Miss America pageant airing Jan. 10 on TLC.

The panel of seven judges, announced today, also includes Olympic gold medal gymnast and season eight "Dancing with the Stars" champion Shawn Johnson; pop instrumentalist Dave Koz; comic Paul Rodriguez and Miss America 2002 Katie Harman.

The pageant will be televised live from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. Jan. 10.
