Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Townhall.com: Wow! Wow! Wow! Besides the creepiness factor and what I would call an outright evil practice and advertisement, this appears to be a combination of President Obama's sincerity while reading a speech honoring the troops and SNL's Stuart Smalley (played by Al Franken) trying to convince himself that "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and dog-gone it, people like me."
