Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: Proof Positive
Rush Limbaugh: Jim Dwyer of the New York Times recently took on New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his massive "carbon footprint." Sort of.
Dwyer claims: "A strong case can be made that when it comes to energy and climate issues, Mr. Bloomberg is the most visionary public official in the country." But, Dwyer says, "a strong argument can also be made that on a personal level," Bloomie is one of "the worst individual polluters ever to hold public office."
Why? Because Bloomberg owns a helicopter and two private jets, which he flies regularly – on official business, and to his Bermuda home. According to Dwyer's carbon math, by taking his private plane to the wacko-summit in Copenhagen, Bloomberg will release 37 times more carbon dioxide than a commercial flier would.
But then Dwyer basically says, "Never mind" – noting the "long list of public figures – from movie stars to politicians to journalists – who preach conservation for everyone else, while living in mega-homes and flying in Gulfstreams." He writes: "It is probably not a good idea for the rest of us to look down our noses at people who cannot resist such temptations, until we can afford them ourselves."
Mr. Dwyer. Stop butt-kissing your fellow liberals, from Hollywood to Washington...who are, simply, blatant hypocrites. The real point is: it's not your business – or anybody else's – what other people own, or how they use it.
There are few human beings more obnoxious and dimwitted than a self-righteous liberal journalist. You, sir – are proof positive!
