DOT work in Triad may end up being delayed
Tight budgets expected to put many of the 1,500 projects statewide on hold
GRAHAM (By Richard Craver, Winston-Salem Journal) - The N.C. Transportation Department offered good news -- and a dose of reality -- about future Triad infrastructure projects yesterday.
Four projects, including adding four lanes to Interstate 85 along the Davidson and Rowan county line, are ranked among the state's top priorities for 2015-20.
However, because money is expected to remain tight, it's likely that a substantial number of the 1,500 proposals statewide will remain on the back burner, including many of the 124 proposals for the Triad and Northwest North Carolina.
