Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

On the home stretch

(By Laura Graff, Winston-Salem Journal) - Rain and snow have pushed back the date of completion for the $48.7 million stadium to April 13.

If that date sounds familiar, it's because it also happens to be the date of the long-planned home opener for the Winston-Salem Dash.

The stadium structure will be finished about March 20, which will allow team managers and game-day employees to start moving in a few weeks before the home opener.
