Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Palin’s Speech a ‘Masterful Exercise in Paranoid Politics’ from a ‘Merchant of Hate’



(Eyeblast.tv) - Democratic operative Bob Shrum, just after Sarah Palin finished her address to the Tea Party convention, during the live MSNBC coverage Saturday night: "What we heard tonight was more a masterful exercise – masterful – in paranoid politics. I mean, she came across to me as a merchant of hate with an oh gosh smile."
