Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

About Done: Final touches going on ballpark

(By Laura Graff, Winston-Salem Journal) - With one month to go until opening day, construction at Winston-Salem's new downtown baseball stadium is almost done, and work is expected to be completed four days ahead of the first pitch.

"The building is, for all intents and purposes, finished," said Bobby Patterson, the independent consultant hired by the city to monitor construction. "At this point, I feel very comfortable."
